Scientific Students' Conference (TDK)
The Scientific and Artistic Students' Circle is a self-education initiative that deepens knowledge related to the mandatory curriculum, enables students to acquire knowledge beyond the training requirements and curriculum, supports student research, and provides a platform for artistic creation. This activity typically starts in the early stages of university or college studies, often beginning in the lower years, and is characterized by continuous tutorial (mentor-based) student-teacher collaboration. It plays a crucial role in high-quality intellectual education and is the most significant form of talent nurturing in Hungarian higher education.
Scientific and artistic student activities serve as the highest level of preparation for a career in research and the arts, acting as a bridge before doctoral studies. As such, it is considered one of the best preparatory stages for PhD or DLA programs.
Research Topics Available Within the Research Group:
- Design and Analysis of Cryptographic Protocols
- Design of Authentication Protocols
- Blockchain-Based Solutions and Technology Applications
- VANET – Ad hoc Networks for Vehicles
- Secure Communication for IoT Devices
- Security Issues in Distributed Systems
- Electronic Voting Systems
Hajós György Data Science College – Data Security Workshop

Hajós György Data Science College – Data Security Workshop
The Data Security Research Laboratory aims to design and apply cryptographic protocols and primitives that enable the implementation of more secure and efficient IT systems. The lab’s research portfolio includes: Critical user authentication, Ensuring the secure storage of sensitive data and documents, Potential implementations of anonymous vehicle communication, Developing new methods to address challenges related to the rapidly growing number of IoT devices, Exploring the applications of blockchain technology. Additionally, workshop members gain insight into various cybersecurity methods, current vulnerabilities, and attack techniques. They also have the opportunity to attend presentations from external partners of the lab, offering exposure to other relevant areas of cybersecurity.
The college’s goal is to significantly increase the number of professionals in the coming years who, utilizing artificial intelligence tools, can think critically about data, data economy, data asset growth, and utilization, conducting research that enables the country to accommodate data-intensive industries.
University of Debrecen Talent Program

University of Debrecen Talent Program
The University of Debrecen Talent Program (DETEP) offers outstandingly talented students the opportunity to participate in scientific research and professionally supportive projects under mentorship. Within the program, students can write TDK (Scientific Student Conference) papers and theses, particularly in the fields of cryptography and data security, with expert mentoring and research support.
Program Highlights:
- Mentored Status: Students receive individual or group mentorship focused on a specific research topic.
- Cryptography and Data Security Research: Opportunities to analyze cryptographic primitives, design, analyze, and develop security protocols for cloud services, IoT systems, and inter-vehicle communication.
- TDK and Thesis Development: Students can present their research results at TDK conferences and thesis defenses.
- Publications and Conference Participation: Research findings can be published in national and international conferences as well as academic journals.
- Practical Applications: The knowledge gained through research is not only theoretical but also practical, with applications in both industry and academia.
